SIMPLIFY LESSON PLANNING WITH GENERATION E

Published on: January 14, 2025

Lesson planning can sometimes feel like a never-ending challenge. Between aligning with curriculum standards, engaging students, and making lessons meaningful, it’s no small feat to design a great class. That’s where Generation E comes in!

We know educators are busy, so we’re here to make teaching energy efficiency simple, fun, and impactful with ready-to-use materials.

EXPLORE OUR FREE, GRADE-SPECIFIC RESOURCES

Our resources cater to students of all ages, ensuring lessons are age-appropriate and relevant. They can be broken down into two main categories:

  1. Presentations: No need to spend hours creating slides decks! We have a variety of pre-made presentations that make it easy for you to address energy efficiency in your classroom. Our presentations break down complex concepts into clear, student-friendly language, and include visuals and real-world examples to grab students’ attention and keep them involved in the learning process. All presentations include teacher’s notes, too!
  2. Hands-on activities: Bring energy efficiency to life with hands-on activities, which carefully designed to deepen students’ understanding and reinforce key takeaways. Whether it’s completing a home energy review or brainstorming energy-saving ideas, these experiences allow students to learn by doing, turning abstract concepts into practical knowledge.

By combining both presentations and activities, you can create a dynamic lesson plan that caters to different learning styles and gets students excited about energy efficiency.

EXTEND THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Want to take things a step further? Generation E’s free activities, like the ones listed below, provide the perfect opportunity to keep the conversation going and encourage students to make energy efficiency a part of their everyday lives.

  • My Pledge to the Planet is designed to inspire students to take personal responsibility for their energy use. By creating a pledge, students identify small, achievable actions they can take to save energy, whether that’s turning off lights, unplugging devices, or reducing water waste.
  • Our Classroom Checklist is another fantastic tool for deeper exploration. Use it to spark discussions or assign projects that encourage students to assess their own energy habits at home or at school. This checklist gives students a chance to reflect, discuss, and see the practical value of energy efficiency in their own lives and communities.

INVITE OUR OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR TO YOUR CLASSROOM
