How to take advantage of Generation E’s free resources

Published on: September 11, 2024

It’s no secret that today’s youth are ready to lead the charge toward building a more sustainable future. To foster this passion, Efficiency Manitoba created the Generation E initiative. Generation E provides teachers with free, ready-to-use resources to help young people understand how saving energy can benefit not only their families and communities, but our planet as a whole.

Here’s how you can take advantage of Generation E’s resources and empower your students to make a difference:

Make lesson planning easy

We understand that finding time to create engaging and educational lesson plans day in and day out is challenging. To help, Generation E offers ready-to-use resources designed to make lesson planning a breeze. These materials were thoughtfully curated to align with the Manitoba curriculum and educational goals to allow you to easily incorporate them into your routine with no added stress.

Engage students with hands-on activities

Students learn best when they can actively participate and see the practical applications of their lessons. Generation E has a variety of hands-on activities that bring energy efficiency concepts to life. These activities are designed to be fun and interactive, helping students grasp complex ideas through real-world applications. Whether it’s conducting energy audits at home or completing projects that showcase energy-saving choices, these activities engage students and make learning memorable.

Access grade-specific educational materials

Understanding that different age groups have unique learning needs, Generation E offers grade-specific educational materials. These resources are tailored to meet the developmental stages of students from elementary to high school. With this age-appropriate content, teachers can ensure their students are not only learning about energy efficiency, but doing so in a way that resonates with them and is suitable for their age and ability.

Integrate energy efficiency into your curriculum seamlessly

Integrating new topics into an already packed curriculum can be daunting. Generation E makes this easy by providing resources that complement existing subjects. Whether you’re teaching science, social studies, or even math, there are ways to incorporate energy efficiency into your lessons. These resources are designed to fit naturally into your curriculum, enhancing your teaching without requiring a complete overhaul of your lesson plans.

Empower your students to make a difference

Beyond the classroom, Generation E aims to empower students to become advocates for energy efficiency in their homes and communities. By learning the importance of saving energy and understanding practical ways to do so, students can influence their family, friends, and broader community. This ripple effect contributes to a more energy-efficient society and helps build a generation of environmentally conscious individuals.
